At the heart of this sort of soap is matcha green tea praised by Japanese poets. For more than two thousand years, the secret of its cultivation and preparation has been known. The leaves of the tea bush that will become Matcha never see the direct withering rays of the sun. Steamed to remove excess bitterness, stripped of their hard veins and stems, they fall on granite millstones to be ground into a delicate bright green powder. At the center of the Japanese tea ceremony, Matcha has been named jade, after the bright green appearance of this noble stone, because of its color.
In cosmetology, Matcha powder is used to make healing face masks and body wraps, and is added to shower gels and soaps. This type of tea is rich in antioxidants and a number of bioactive substances (polyphenols and xanthines), which strengthen the protective properties of the skin and slow down the aging process. With them, the skin of the face and body is protected from inflammation and irritation.
